I am a fifth year PhD student in the English department, studying Literature. My research focuses on adaptation and variation in 19th century American Literature. I also have an undergraduate degree in public policy and a background in local government. I have two pet rabbits, Ramblin Man and Janis Loplin, who are delightful little friends.

Hi! My name is Anna.

I’m in my last year of my studies for a master’s degree in Library and Information Science with a focus on youth services. I completed my bachelor’s degrees here at Mizzou, too: BA in English and BS in Education! When I’m not at the Writing Center, I’m usually at the public library planning story times for preschoolers, the design lab here on campus 3D printing a new idea, hiking, or roller skating. Looking forward to working with you!

Audrey is a PhD candidate in Art History in the School of Visual Studies. After earning her Bachelor’s in Visual Arts Education at Ball State University, Audrey taught studio art to Indiana high school students until 2018. She arrived at MU that same year to start graduate work in American Art History with an emphasis on women artists in the Modern Era. Audrey’s dissertation research focuses on the work of women artist-educators who committed themselves to establishing art programs serving diverse communities across the United States. When Audrey is not working on her dissertation, you can find her with a small cup of coffee, a nice book, and her cat, Sage!

I’m a professional editor and writer with a consulting company where I work on a government contract focused mainly on child welfare. Before that, I was an award-winning newspaper reporter in Wyoming. I’m a 2019 master’s graduate of the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism. Before that, I was an attorney and English teacher, both in Mississippi. I’m originally from Tennessee, where I went to the University of Memphis for college and the University of Tennessee for law school.

Hi there! I’m Colton!

I have been working for the Writing Center since August of 2020, tutoring undergraduate and graduate students. After graduating with a BA in English Literature and a BA in Spanish, I decided to continue my education by pursuing graduate studies. I am now a PhD student in the English Department at Rutgers University–New Brunswick. Here, I specialize in 19th century American poetry and its connection to gender and sexuality.

I am excited to continue helping Mizzou students become better writers, even from a thousand miles away and a different time zone!

Hi, everybody!

I am Ph.D. student in English here at Mizzou! I mainly work on Contemporary American literature and theory!
I look forward to working with you here in the Writing Center!

Warm tidings, fellow Writing Center user.

My name is Don (I also go by Don Michael), and I’m a first-year Counseling Psychology Master’s student. I have an AS and BS in Psychology, and I’m currently pursuing a Pre-Doctoral Master’s to pursue a PhD in the field later. Similarly to how Ken’s job can be best summarized as beach, my hobbies involve the computer and water. Feel free to ask me all of your freshwater fish and invertebrate questions during a session with me. I look forward to meeting and working with everyone here at Mizzou!

Hey there!

My name is Gabby, and I’m a second-year master’s student in school counseling. My background is in psychology, Spanish, and journalism, but I can help with it all! When I’m not at the Writing Center or in schools, I’m usually doing yoga, reading, watching a Game of Thrones spinoff, or wishing every dog I lay eyes on were mine. Looking forward to working with you!

Hello, I’m Jenna!

I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and am currently pursuing a PhD in Counseling Psychology. When I am not tutoring at the Writing Center, I enjoy reading, crocheting, and cooking. I’m excited to support you on your writing journey!

Hi! I’m Kacey, and I am so happy to be here.

I graduated from Mizzou with a PhD in Music Education in 2024, and am currently working as an Assistant Professor of Music Education at a small college in Alabama. I am a world traveler, a mom to fur babies and a human baby, and I love to craft! This semester I am working as a seasonal tutor in an online capacity. I am looking forward to working with you – let’s get started!

Hi, I’m Katie! I completed my undergraduate/graduate studies years ago in various subjects (e.g. education, TESOL, history, film studies, and rhetoric/composition).

Also, I’ve worked in a variety of roles in the field of education (e.g. teaching, student support/accessibility, testing/assessment, language learning, etc.). Most recently, I was able to return to the K-3 classroom and provide individualized educational support for students, which was an amazing experience!

When I’m not providing professional/academic writing support, I like to spend time with my academic spouse, first grader, and pre-Ker. We like to travel, go outdoors, and play card games.
Thanks for visiting the WC and I look forward to joining you along your writing adventures!

Hello, my name is Marta!

Originally from Michigan, I have been a happy resident of Missouri for almost 5 years now. I obtained my master’s degree here at Mizzou, and now I am pursuing a PhD in Art History. My research is centered on the visual and material culture of Early-Modern Europe, particularly within the Low Countries. I am interested in the relationships between diverse seventeenth-century bodies and how they manifest in art and objects. Outside of my academic endeavors I enjoy running, spending time with furry friends, creating art, and reading. I look forward to assisting you in your writing process!

Hi! Molly here 🙂

I am originally from St. Louis, but since graduating with my MA in English from Mizzou, I have moved to Chicago. I also graduated from Mizzou with BA degrees in English and Spanish as well as minors in Women and Gender Studies and Latin American Studies. I love doing puzzles, drinking coffee, and exploring new places. When I’m not doing any of those, you can find me headed to concerts of all genres. I look forward to helping you with all your writing needs!
